– District 219 raised up to approximately more than $90,000.00!
– A student from Niles North raised $36.00 by giving free hugs (No kidding).
– More than $3 billion has been raised since 1985
– Relay for Life is the largest nonprofit fundraising event in the world.
– For the first time in history, the Relay Event will be held at Niles North’s, Chuck Pos Stadium!
“Cancer never sleeps, so we’re gonna fight through the night,” Mr. Gary Chu, Relay for Life sponsor of Niles North, said.
People are interested in this because we lose loved ones from something they should should not have had. People might also join because canning is their hobby! If you’re interested in canning, you should definitely join Relay.
“I would say the biggest reason is because you learn more about this cause, you get curious, and you do something about it. It’s a great feeling and once you get involved, you want to keep doing more,” Sheri Warner, Relay for Life representative, said.
If you are thinking of joining Relay for Life, do not hesitate to come to the meetings for further information. Relay meets every Monday after school in the West Commons.
