Friday night, March 8, boys basketball traveled to Glenbrook North to take on the New Trier Trevians in the Sectional finals.
The game started on a dissonant note when point guard Malichai Nix jumped for the ball. The first quarter was close and ended 15-13.
In the second quarter the Vikings defense fell against the Trevian’s larger atheletes. The quarter ended 32-23.
In the third quarter the Vikings struggled to keep up and finished, 46-34.
In the final quarter of the match, intensity reached a climax when guard BJ Beckford fouled out, and Nix and Billy Voitik were benched on the verge of fouling out as well.
New Trier won with a 13-point advantage, 65-42.
