Friday, Nov. 16 freshman Azra Avdic travels to Evanston Township High School to participate in the State swimming competition. Avdic qualified for the prestigious competition with a time of 1:55.08 in her 200 Freestyle.
Early Thursday morning, Avdic’s teachers, coach Paul Torres and teammates came out to support Avdic in her State sendoff. Karl Costello, athletic director at Niles North, presented Avdic with her first State t-shirt.
Avdic is the only Niles North swimmer going to State this season. We wish her the best of luck competing against the top swimmers from Illinois high schools.
