After months of preparation, it’s finally here. The Auroris Dance Company presents “Spectrum”, their 2013 show on Jan. 25-26 at 7:00 p.m.
“When I think of Spectrum, I think of outbursts of many different colors,” Auroris co-captain, junior Zoe Hertz, said.
The performance, which consists of two acts and 18 choreographed routines including modern, ballet, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, and even an African inspired dance, has definitely proven to be “on point” when it comes to offering a wide “spectrum” of dance styles. The music ranges from Broadway musical to Lady Gaga, and of course, the classic Gangnam Style.
Choreographed by Niles North’s very own, with the exception of a few guest choreographers, each piece tells a unique story, filled with an array of emotions and movements that are sure to captivate the audience. When you aren’t busy following every move across the stage, you may find yourself in awe of the fact that each dancer has the ability to memorize every turn, step, and leap in every dance and still make it look easy.
“We’ve worked very hard this year, practice after practice…everyone’s going to feel so great after that final piece has been performed for the audience,” Auroris manager, junior Alethea Busch, said.
Tickets for the Auroris show are $10 and can be purchased at the door on each night of the performance, Jan. 25-26 at 7:00 p.m. Make sure to bring an extra pair of socks, because they WILL be knocked off.
