The team is mostly set from spring tryouts, so these coming tryouts are supplementary, particularly targeted at the underclassmen and incoming freshman.
Cheerleaders are outgoing and not afraid of a challenge, and cheer and the cheer community have a lot to offer.
“Cheerleaders are known around the school, not by our uniforms but by the way we act towards fellow cheerleaders and teachers throughout the school day,” cheer captain and senior Gabe Elizer said.
Cheer incorporates tumbling, stunting, cheering and dance. It is a very performance heavy sport that mainly focuses on and works towards competing. The competitions take place during the winter season.
“Although that is the most intense part of our season, it is the part the cheerleaders are the most excited for and live for on the cheer team,” head coach Alexandra Landon said.
From cheering alongside games and participating in competitions, cheer is an extracurricular that combines athletics with performing and representing the school. It is perfect for any ambitious individual.
