The Niles North physics department presents the annual Physics Phrenzy, in which guests can learn about air resistance, ride a hovercraft and make Alka-Seltzer rockets — all in one exciting and educational night.
The fourth annual event will be held Tuesday, March 19 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Niles North East Cafeteria.
This free event includes many physics and science related demonstrations performed by Niles North physics students. Organizers say children from second to eighth grade have especially enjoyed the “hands-on” demos in the previous years.
“This is a great opportunity to spark interest in science through exciting explosions of fun,”physics teacher and Phrenzy coordinator Scott Reed said. “The Phrenzy will have lots of physics activities for children of all ages to explore, learn and have fun with science.”
The North physics students will serve as guides to more than 25 different stations where guests can observe, make predictions, test ideas and feel physics first-hand.
“We have all picked and prepared topics to present on the night of the Phrenzy. It should be both fun and educational,” physics student junior Janelle Limson said.
Join Limson and her fellow physics fanatics for a night of science excitement.
