My name is Clare McCausland; I’m sixteen, and I’m a sophomore.
Which activities are you involved in a North?
I do Varsity Swimming in the Fall, Gymnastics in the Winter, and Varsity Soccer in the Spring. I’m also in Chamber Choir.
What are your hobbies outside of school?
I play guitar outside of school.
What kind of music do you listen to?
My favorite genres are jazz, R&B, and indie pop.
What are your favorite movies/TV shows?
My favorite TV show is Squid Game, and my favorite movie is The Lord of the Rings.
What is your cultural background?
My grandma is Korean, so I’m a quarter Asian, and my other three quarters are Irish and French.
What is your favorite food?
My favorite food is probably chocolate chip banana bread or bulgogi, which is a Korean dish.
What is something you do to relieve stress?
I like to chill and watch TV, but I also like to just get the stressful stuff done and get it over with.
Out of the classes you’re taking now, which is your favorite and which is the most challenging?
My favorite is Algebra 2 Honors because I enjoy the topics we’re learning and I have a lot of friends in that class. My most challenging is probably English because there are just so many essays.
What kind of professional field are you interested in pursuing after high school?
I’m not sure… I’m thinking about something in the medical field, possibly psychology?
Who is your biggest inspiration in life?
My parents are my biggest inspiration—they always give great advice and help me out whenever I need support.
What is your happy place?
My cousin’s house in California—I love the warm weather and spending time with my family.
What is something that scares you?
I’ve always been scared of failing a class–even though my grades are good–and sometimes I worry about being left out.
What do you pride yourself in the most?
I’m proud of my ability to learn new things pretty quickly which has been very helpful for me with school and extracurriculars.
