What is your name and grade? My name is Eddie Florian. I’m a junior.
What are some of your core values? For the one that is most important, I would say honesty, because if you can’t be trusted to be honest, then what can you be trusted with in general? And then also, being courageous, because if you want to make it far in life, you can’t be afraid to try things.
What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t done yet? I want to go skydiving one day. A lot of people are scared of it, but it’s one thing that I really want to do one day when I get older. I think it would be really fun, and it’s been a dream for the past couple of years. The thought of it, even though it is a little scary, just sounds like something that would be extremely exciting.
Do you believe in aliens? Yes, I do think that there’s some other life form out there in the universe, because the universe is just so massive that the odds of there not being some other type of life out there are probably low. I don’t know where the aliens would be or if we’re ever going to end up finding them, but I still think they’re probably out there somewhere.
What was your favorite part of your day today? Being able to have a meaningful conversation with my friends at lunch. Actually, I’m going to change my answer to this question. My favorite part of my day today was when I woke up, because I got the chance to live another day.
What is your favorite tradition that you practice? Every summer, I go to Romania to visit family, and I always do fun stuff there. So, it’s not really a tradition, it’s not a celebration or anything like that, but it’s something that I do every single summer, every year, and it’s just really fun every time. That’s why it’s my favorite. When I go there, I visit family, hang out with my cousin, and visit different places throughout the country. But overall, though, it’s just that that vibe of being in Romania is pretty unmatched.
What are some of your nicknames, and where do they come from? So my name is Edward, but all my friends call me Eddie. (Outside guest Ari Colish: “Eduardooo! Or: Word, like, Ed-word?”) I used to be called Edward all the time in, like, late elementary school, and then I went back to Eddie. I also sometimes get called Speedy or Fast Eddie, because I’m really fast. That’s pretty much it. Oh, and my friend Aakash calls me my Goat, because that’s what I am.
What’s your favorite song to sing in the shower? I don’t really sing any specific songs in the shower, but I do sometimes freestyle. I’m actually really good at freestyling. I don’t really sing specific songs.
Are you a morning person or a night owl, and why? Definitely a night owl, because I don’t tend to wake up early in the morning, nor do I like doing so. And, it’s not just because I feel tired, it’s just that in the morning, it feels like I need to sleep, but then at night, I always have a ton of energy and that’s when I do all my stuff. When it comes to homework or hanging out with my friends, I always do it at night.
What’s your go-to pickup line? If being pretty was a crime, you’d be in prison for a life sentence.
What’s the most impressive thing you’ve seen someone else do? One time, when I was watching football, I saw Justin Jefferson make an insane one-handed grab on fourth-and-18. I think it was a few years ago, in, like, 2022. And, I’m not a Vikings fan or anything, but when I saw that game, that was just crazy, and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.
If you started a business, what would it be? I would start a business of milk ATMs, to expand access to milk and dairy to people who don’t have access to it or don’t have convenient means to get it. Basically, we would place these ATMs in college campuses or apartment complexes, because those are the places where you have a guaranteed steady flow of traffic. And, people who might not want to go all the way to the grocery store just to get milk, because milk is actually the number-one item that families run out of in their fridge. So, if you had access to fresh, organically-sourced milk in your apartment complex, wouldn’t you just go downstairs and get it? So, yeah. This was also my DECA project last year.
What would your ideal date look like? I don’t have much experience in this field, but I’d say that my ideal date would be to go mini-golfing, because I think it would be a really fun experience. I have friends who’ve gone on mini-golf dates, and they’ve told me that it’s always been a very fun and pleasant experience, and I would like to take part in that as well one day.
What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you? Alright, so when I was in fourth grade, we were all taking a test, right? The entire class, everyone, was silent, and then I farted really loud—like really loud, unbelievably loud—and the entire class stayed silent. Nobody had any reaction at all. And then there was this one kid sitting across the table from me, and he just looked at me dead in the eye. He wasn’t laughing or smiling or anything. He was just looking at me, staring right into my eyes, and I didn’t know how to react. That moment still haunts me to this day.
What’s something that brings you pleasure? I like exercising, whether it’s lifting, running, or even swimming and stuff like that. I just like taking care of my body and being healthy. It’s always a great feeling no matter what I’m doing, and the fact that it’s good for me just adds to that as a whole.
Do you prefer road trips or flying? I like flying better, because ever since I was little, I’ve always loved flying. It’s just something that makes me really happy. Whenever I go to the airport and get on a plane, I know I’m going somewhere really fun. And, even though road trips are fun too—I’ve been on some road trips; they’ve been really fun—the feeling of flying is just more pleasant to me.
Is there something else that you want to tell readers that I didn’t mention? LeBron James is not top-three of all time, and if you disagree with me, then DM me on IG.
