What’s your name and grade? My name is Ezekiel Wilson-Porter, and I’m a junior.
What extracurricular activity is your favorite to participate in? My favorite extracurricular activity is policy debate here at Niles North.
What are your favorite arguments to research in debate? My favorite topics to research and debate are about anti-blackness. A lot of debate involves different actions that the government can take, and a lot of them happen to involve a lot of antiblack research. I like to research the implications that those actions have on Black people and the country at large.
What made you choose these topics? So one day I was at a tournament and I saw a really good debtor that was also running the same arguments. It really inspired me to follow in her footsteps and figure out how I can have a stronger relationship with the activity.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of school? My favorite thing to do is hang out with my friends and spend time with family.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? Puerto Rico or Jamaica.
What puts you in a good mood when you’re upset? Ballots, awards, speaker points, and money.
What is your proudest accomplishment? Winning a tournament and winning first speaker at that tournament.
What is a skill you would like to learn? I would like to learn how to write a perfect DBQ.
