What is your name and your department? I am Leah Steinfeld, working in the fine and applied art department.

Why did you decide to teach high school? I think I decided to teach high school because I like how high schoolers are independent, which we can do a lot more things with. I taught elementary school students when I was 14 and that wasn’t the path I wanted to go.

What inspired you to be a chef’s teacher? No one in particular inspires me because I had a lot of freedom in the kitchen and from there I had a change in career paths. I originally wanted to be a chemistry teacher, but then I took AP Chemistry and it wasn’t for me. So instead, I decided to be a chef’s teacher.

Do you have a favorite recipe? Any baked good would have to be my favorite, specifically a cookie because there is a lot you can do with it.

Do you prefer cooking or baking and why? Baking 100%, because I like the science behind it. I like science a lot plus I like the story behind cooking science and baking science, [but] baking all the way.

What is a weird food combo you enjoy? When I was little I liked vanilla pudding and Doritos.

What is one country you would like to travel to? I would like to visit the entire world. One place would be Europe, specifically Italy because they have such good food and I would like to cook with someone in that country.

Who is your favorite superhero? My favorite superhero in Marvel is Baby Guru and DC is Wonder Woman.

What are some shows you could watch over and over again? “Guardians of the Galaxies,”Pitch Percent,” or “The Neighbors.” There my comfort shows.

What season do you prefer? I prefer fall because I don’t like being too cold or too warm; the weather is just perfect.

What is your favorite sport and why? My favorite sport to watch is football. I find it the most entertaining and it is the only sport that entertains me and I know.

What is your favorite genre of music? I like all types of music except country, but the old 2000s songs are my favorite.

What’s your guilty pleasure? My guilty pleasure is a milkshake because I am lactose intolerant, so I know I will regret it.
