Where do you see yourself in 5 years? It’d be nice if I could see myself on a beach with my toes in the sand and drinking a beverage with an umbrella. I will be retired from teaching, so I don’t know. I’m thinking maybe I’ll work with plants ’cause they smell nice and when I put them down, they’ll stay where I put them. They won’t be moving around, but I don’t know exactly what I’m gonna do when I retire. We’ll see how things go.

How long have you been working here? This is my 32nd year, so I’ll retire three more years. I’m a freshman this year, so I have three more years to go.

Who was the most influential person in your life growing up? My grandma Pearl.

What was a life lesson she taught you? She taught me how to cook, sew, and she just taught me how to do things and how to take care of myself. We were close. I used to stay with her all the time on the weekends.

Do you believe in zodiac signs? Not really. I mean, I’m a Sagittarius. Thanks for asking. I think there’s more to life than just the position of the stars. More forces at work. <laugh>

If you could choose one super power what would it be? I think flying would be kind of fun. So I wouldn’t have to sit in the tollway and in traffic. But then there’d be a lot of people flying all over the place.
