What is your name and grade? Jelly Dacpano, I’m a Senior.

What is your favorite thing about the Niles North community? Making friends and meeting new people. There are so many people at Niles North. I love to meet new people every day. I have a lot of friends who I get to hang out with and I love making more. Some people aren’t nice to me, but that’s ok because most people here at North support me and are kind.

What is your favorite subject in school and why? Arts Appreciation because I love Ms. Baskin and Mr. Sinclair and they make us do fun stuff and I love that. I love to dance and sing the best. It helps me express myself and be who I truly am.

What activities do you participate in at school? I do Kapit Bayan which is the Filipino dance group [at Niles North]. I love to dance. I also do YND (Why Not Dance), which is another dance club here at North. I’m also in the Filipino Club and Bowling Club. I’m very involved in school activities.

What do you want to do when you’re older? I want to do music performance so I’ll be like a music artist. I want to be famous.

If you’re having a bad day, what’s one thing that always cheers you up? My siblings, always! They make me laugh. They made me smile. They make me feel loved with everything they do. They just make me happy.

What’s your favorite thing to do with friends? Boba, or hang out, or have sleepovers.

How would you describe your clothing style? So I’m half tomboy. But I’m also half softy, like pink, girly things. A combo of those would be Tom-fty. I switch it up with however I feel. I have great style.

Do you have a fictional character that you relate to most? Pinkie Pie from My Little Pony. She’s bubbly, and fun, and she matches my personality. She has a lot of friends and is kind to everyone. She is the life of the party.

What’s your favorite thing to do outside of school? I call my friends from school and from clubs and we talk a lot! We talk about school, problems, and stuff that friends talk about. I love them so so much.

So what is your dream pet? I want a butterfly for a pet. They are really pretty.
