The wait is finally over, Android fans. The Samsung Galaxy s7 is out now! The Galaxy s7 was released on Feb. 21, 2016 by Samsung. Pre-orders for the Galaxy s7 were available two days later on the 23rd. The device was released onto shelves on Mar. 11, 2016.
Samsung decided to take away the memory expansion and water resistance in the Galaxy s6. While they removed those features, the Galaxy s6 was still a high performing phone that brought no complaints beyond the memory expansion and water resistance.
The Galaxy s7 comes out with another version of the phone, the Galaxy s7 edge. The s7 screen size is 5.1 inches and the edge is 5.4 inches. The only difference between the two screen sizes are a minuscule .4 inches.
Both phones are made with an aluminium frame and Gorilla Glass 4 on the front and back of the phone. This means there will be extra protection from cracks if you drop your phone.
On paper, the Galaxy s7 camera has lower specs: 12 Megapixels (MP) on the back and 5 MP on the front, compared to the s6’s 16 MP on the back and 5 MP on the front. While the new camera may produce a lower number of pixels, it makes up for this with dual-pixel technology; a feature that promises an increase in image clarity despite the lower pixel numbers. This basically means that the Galaxy s7’s camera is a little lower in quality. But not enough to cause an outrage.
With the new Galaxy s7, comes Samsung Pay. This app was created to make purchasing easier. The app stores your credit or debit card information and keeps your payment information private, so there is still security when using this app.
All-in-all, the new Galaxy s7 is available and a marvelous phone, so get it now.
