Do your parents ever ask you how your day was, and then you smugly respond that you’ve done nothing? Now is their chance to find out what you’ve really been doing all day. But on a shortened schedule of about 3 hours, of course.
After 10 years, Niles North is finally bringing back the annual Open House on Thursday, September 4 at 6 PM. Part of the reason Niles North has made this change is to eliminate the need for 2 days of Parent-Teacher conferences. This way parents can gain a better understanding of their students’ high school experience in a classroom environment.
“It’s a great opportunity for parents to experience what students have to go through on a day to day basis,” said chemistry teacher Mr. Ryan Lindberg, who is going to the Niles North Open House for the first time this year.
“If anything, it’s also a great opportunity for parents to learn about curriculum and ask questions.”
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be on October 30 from 4 to 8 PM. Forms will be released in the within the upcoming weeks.
Students are also welcome to accompany their parents on Open House night.
“I love the idea of the Open House,” said junior Alex Burbules. “I want to show my mom how much I struggle getting to each of my classes everyday.”
