Gabriella Miller, a nine-year-old girl from Virginia, was recently diagnosed with a rare form of inoperable brain cancer. When she heard that she qualified for the “Make-A-Wish” Foundation, she submitted her wish for a trip to Paris, France. But Gabriella has another big wish– to help other sick children like herself– so she is asking for people to join her in writing letters to Santa Claus because if Macy’s receives one million letters to Santa before Christmas, the company will donate $1 million to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Gabriella’s original goal was to personally deliver 10,000 letters to Macy’s on Dec. 23. However, as of Dec. 12, the outpouring of support she received helped her fly by the 10,000 letter mark and she’s now hoping to deliver 50,000 letters. Just because someone doesn’t celebrate Christmas doesn’t mean they can’t write a letter to support the cause– Gabriella and her family are Jewish.
To help Gabriella reach her goal write a quick “Dear Santa” letter in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and mail it to her at the following address:
Dear Santa “Make-A-Wish with Gabriella”
20899 McIntosh Place
Leesburg, VA 20175
Letters may also be dropped off in the math/science office to be delivered to Susan Trzaskus, who is spearheading the letter writing effort at North.
