The results of this match led to widespread celebration in the Italian streets.

On May 4, S.S.C. Napoli sealed their first Serie A title in 33 years.

The last time Napoli won the league title, football legend, Diego Maradona helped Napoli win the Serie A title in 1990.

Napoli went against Udinese. The team just needed a tie against Udinese, the 11th seed in the Italian league.

But what Spalleti did with this team was so astounding and the signings of Kim Min Jae, Kvaratskhelia and Anguissa were smart business moves, especially with Kvara becoming one of the best players this year in both the Champions League and Serie A and the changes in tactics made this team so fun to watch.

In the first half, the Slovenian midfielder, Sandi Lovric scored in the 13’ minute to gain an early headstart.

Coming into the second half, the Italian giants were able to score with the help of the Nigerian forward, Victor Osimhen, tying the game up. Both teams were unable to score for the rest of the game.

“At the start of the season, I wasn’t really expecting anything from this Napoli team. I assumed a UCL spot, but nothing more as I thought Inter would win the title. But what Spalleti did with this team was so astounding and the signings of Kim Min Jae, Kvaratskhelia and Anguissa were smart business moves, especially with Kvara becoming one of the best players this year in both the Champions League and Serie A and the changes in tactics made this team so fun to watch,” junior Mark Yonan said. “ But Osimhen was definitely the best player on the team with all the goals he had this season and how much he has carried the load. Some players who were very underrated in the team were Elmas, Di Lorenzo, and Zielinski, such amazing players for me to watch. I really loved watching this Napoli team and the League win was an unexpected delight to watch happen.”

Napoli has been the definition of an “underdog” this season. The smart moves of their manager, Luciano Spalleti have been game changers, from the signing of Korean defender, Kim Min Jae from the Turkish league to signing the youngster, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for only €11 million.

Replacing Kalidou Koulibaly and Lorenzo Insigne with Kim Min Jae and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia were mastermind signings from Spalleti.

After the game, the streets of Naples filled with excited and proud fans, celebrating the end of Napoli’s 33-year league title drought.

The Italian underdogs proved many wrong and we can only hope to see them further improve into the next season.
