Andrew Selig, Freshman

What is your name and your grade? I’m Andrew Selig and I’m a freshman.

How long have you been part of Esports? I’ve been part of esports since the start of this year, around Feb. 6.

Do you have any pre-game rituals? No, I just practice for like 30 minutes, maybe get a couple games in with my teammates so that we can build up our chemistry.

What’s your favorite movie? My favorite movie would probably be The Peanut Butter Falcon, it’s really heartwarming and it sends a good message. It’s pretty inspirational.

What made you want to join Esports? I’ve been playing the game for a long time, I’m really good at the game, and I wanted to compete for our school and I wanted to compete in state, so it played out pretty well.

Who inspires you the most and why? Probably one of my family friends who introduced me to the game. They got me into video games and eventually this, and eventually rocket league.

How do you like to celebrate your wins (or any achievement in general)? We look over our games, me and my teammates, we all get together, we look over our games, we get really excited, and yeah that’s about it.

What’s your favorite /song/artist at the moment and why? Probably my life by J Cole, it’s got a good beat and it’s a pretty good song, or Replay, it’s a pretty fire song, it brings back memories from summer camp.

What have you learned during your time with the esports team? Chemistry and teamwork really work in the end, it doesn’t matter if you’re the worst team, if your opponent has bad chemistry, you’re probably gonna win.

Do you have any other hobbies besides video games? Sports, I’m on the JV team this year for volleyball, I started volleyball last year in my eighth-grade year and I played tennis for seven years before that, I would consider myself pretty good.
