Meanwhile, Antifa rioters throw Portland and Seattle into chaos.

With National Guard troops nationwide bracing for a second act to the insurrectionist drama that hit Washington on January 6th, Wednesday turned out quiet and peaceful in most state capitals nationwide.

In Albany, New York, just one protester showed up at the state’s capitol building. It was the same story in Springfield, IL, where security forces only noticed a single demonstrator. He waved his flag alone for a few minutes and left. Washington, D.C. saw “few protests” that day as well.

California’s capital Sacramento probably saw the most peaceful activism on inauguration day. Two groups of Antifa loyalists (who had previously held frequent demonstrations in that area) marched around the city and disbanded without confrontation.

Portland, Oregon, and Seattle, Washington were the only two scenes of chaos on Wednesday. Protestors smashed windows and vandalized private property in both cities. Rioters called for “revenge”, decrying Biden’s policies as not liberal enough.

“Anarchists should be prosecuted,” Biden told C-Span and ABC News. “We need to distinguish between legitimate peaceful protest and opportunistic violent destruction.”
