With homecoming just around the corner, students of all ages have the opportunity to decorate their hallway on Sept. 26 at 11:30 a.m. and get excited for this year’s dance.
“We are a few days away from the biggest event of the school year- homecoming 2015!” Caroline Benjamin, Student Activities Director, said.
One of the best ways to gear up for homecoming is to decorate the hallways. In the past, some classes have gotten really into hallway decorations, corresponding with the homecoming theme. Additionally, those that decorate their hallways will get in the mood for spirit week, which lasts all of next week.
Decoration of hallways is separated by class. Freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors will each get their own hallway to decorate. Supplies to decorate hallways will not be provided, so it is important to stock up beforehand.
In addition to hallway decoration, clubs can make banners to represent themselves at the homecoming assembly. Banner making will take place at the same time as hallway decorating in the cafe. At the assembly, the best banner will be chosen.
Decorating and banner making lasts until 3:30 p.m. Pizza will be served, so it is not necessary to bring food or eat lunch before arriving.
“Hallway decorating is super underrated every year. Since it’s the first real pre-homecoming event, it gets me excited for spirit week and homecoming,” Charlie Cramer, junior, said.
For anyone with nothing to do this Saturday, make sure to stop by Niles North to decorate the hallways or create a banner for your club and flex your homecoming spirit!
