Niles Township High Schools bring Exploring Colleges for juniors and their families.
At this event, speakers from different colleges will discuss different aspects of large public universities, small liberal arts colleges, and community colleges. This information will help juniors and their parents get a better understanding of what college is best for their child and what great programs colleges contain. In addition, this will help juniors get a view of what college they want to attend.
“It is important for juniors to attend the Exploring Colleges night because it will get them to think about college and the purpose of it,” college coordinator Christine Brines said. “Juniors will also have a better understanding of college and the college process.”
“This is going to be a fantastic night for juniors and their parents because Jim Coffer, the dean of admission of University of Michigan, and DJ Meifee, the dean of admissions from Knox College, will be talking about experiences encountered in college and what it is like to be a college student,” college recruiter Jerry Pope said. “This is a great start for juniors to think about college because they have options of a big school like University of Michigan verses a small school like Knox.”
The Exploring Colleges night will be held in the Auditorium on February 25, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.
