Skokie’s annual Backlot Bash is coming back once more to downtown Skokie from Friday, August 22 to Sunday, August 24. Entrance is free, but several different passes are available for food, carnival rides and games.
Dance Marathon, one of Niles North’s largest clubs, will have their own dunk tank where people can dunk District 219 teachers. The following teachers have volunteered to be a part of this fun activity for students:
Mrs. Trzaskus, Mr. Egofske, Ms. Pietrzyk, Mr. Chu, Ms. Benjamin, Ms. Matesi, Mr. Puglisi, Mr. Toy, Mrs. Nocella, Mr. Silverberg, Dr. Robinson, Lisa Litberg and Ms. Paulis.
The money raised from the dunk tank will contribute to the Daniel M. Horyn Foundation, this year’s school chest beneficiary.
Alongside the dunk tank, the variety of attractions makes this particular summer fest shine. Outside of the general carnival fare, there will be live music, classic films, open historic buildings, a teen dance, kids arts and crafts, a classic auto show, a farmers’ market and much more. The complete schedule of events and times is listed here.
“The bands are always my reason for coming. I’m particularly excited for Tributosaurus to cover The Doors on Sunday,” senior Darby Aanerud said.
Be sure to come by and find your own reason to attend this annual fair. With all the diverse activities, it won’t be hard.
