As part of their ongoing commitment to developing the next generation of playwrights, the Niles North theatre is introducing the New Playwrights’ Project.
As part of the project, young authors compete to have their new 10 minute plays presented for the first time in front of a live audience. Plays being performed include those written by sophomores Kate Bean, Callie Folke, Sean Loach and Martin Wiviott, juniors Danielle Kropveld, David Gilbert, Maddie Martin, Julia Melnick and Joanna Vaklin, and seniors Sabina Dzelilovic, Ryan Loach, Camille Paskind, Allegra Rosenberg, Lauryn Schmelzer, Noah Zeidman and Nathan Selinger.
“The New Playwrights’ Project is really special because it’s the first time our plays are being read out loud for an audience,” Melnick said. “We’ve been working on them since last May and it’s so exciting to finally see them brought to life.”
Be there as new stars are born with their first big break into the world of playwrights on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 4 and 7 p.m. in the Niles North Drama Performance Center. Admission is free.
