Tonight the Niles North Vikings girls volleyball team took on the Highland Park Giants for their Senior Night.
The celebrated seniors included Molly Hampton, Liz Meuser, Taylor Louis, Alethea Busch, and Kelsey Dalstrom.
The first game was played extremely well on both sides. Highland Park took an early lead, but senior Taylor Louis scored enough points to get the Vikings caught up to their opponents.
Up until the last few points the first game was very close, but the Vikings came out strong, winning the game with a score of 25-21, and taking the lead in the match set (1-0).
In the second game, the Vikings took an early lead of 5-0 by pounding in points left and right.
It could have been the roar of the crowd cheering every time the Vikings scored a point, or the sheer will of our Vikings to keep the lead all through the game.
Highland Park brought their best game, but the Vikings proved they were a force to be reckoned. Senior Molly Hampton and Louis performed some outstanding spikes that Highland Park could not see coming.
The Vikings scored the final point to win the match set (2-0) with a final score of 25-21.
The Vikings could not have had a better game to represent the talent of their seniors, and the success of their 2013 season.
With all the support from the crowd and the teamwork displayed by the Lady Vikings, there was no chance in stopping them from winning this match. Great job ladies, and congratulations to the seniors!
Go Vikings!
