Viking girls volleyball left Loyola Academy victorious Friday night after battling the Ramblers for the regional title.
The beginning of the match was a breeze for the North players until they unintentionally let down their guard and allowed the Ramblers to power through and tie the Vikings, 12-12. North then dynamically bounced back and won the first match 25-23.
The second match became an even closer contest as both teams gave the game everything they could to win the title for their respective school. Viking ships soared through Rambler waters in the end, and Niles North took the title with a final score of 25-21.
Sectionals will be held at Niles North in the main gym on Tuesday, Oct. 30, when the team takes on the New Trier Trevians. Fans of vigorous volleyball won’t want to miss this game.
See you there, and go vikings.
