Niles North varsity girls volleyball team stole victory from Deerfield in a conference game Tuesday night, Oct. 2, with a final score of 25-17.
The win was secured quickly, played with sharp defensive blocks and piercing spikes.
Even when victory seemed definite, the varsity players kept their focus with positive feedback and encouragement on the court. The game ended with a powerful ace from senior Alice Montague.
“It was a really fun win, and just one of the many obstacles we have to overcome on the way to win conference,” junior Alethea Busch said.
The girls volleyball team is currently in second place in conference, with a record of 5 in 1.
Their overall record is 17-3.
