Moroccan PSG player Achraf Hakimi’s wife Hiba Abouk filed for divorce after Hakimi’s rape charges back in March and demanded half his net worth (estimated over $70 Million).

However, Hakimi put all his assets under his mother’s name, meaning that he technically owns nothing, so his wife Hiba couldn’t file for any assets. This led the court to write off Hiba’s financial demands due to Hakimi being “broke”. Since Hiba has assets under her name and her net worth is estimated at about 3 million, she is now being ordered to give up half of her net worth to Hakimi.

Many celebrities such as Andrew Tate and Israel Adesanya praise Hakimi for his smart decision to keep putting his assets under his mother’s name. With the news spreading, Hakimi has gained about 2 million more followers on Instagram, with about 95% of them being married men who idolize the Morrocan. This may lead many married men to secure their assets by putting them under their mother’s name or another person who will be trusted.

Many athletes who have a high salary tend to have a hard time finding the right spouse because there are a lot of people who are in it for the sole purpose of taking money from their partner. Unlike Hakimi, many people have their assets under their own name which puts them at risk for potential financial disadvantage.

One example of this was a basketball player from the 80s-Dennis Rodman. Rodman has been married 3 times, but the third marriage was what led him to financial struggle. His ex-wife Michelle Moyer filed for divorce in 2004, and when they officially split up in 2012, Rodman owed over $80,000 in child support and went bankrupt. If Rodman had his earnings under another name, he wouldn’t be in financial struggle.

Throughout recent times, many athletes have seen their wives leave in order to acquire money for themselves. Although Hakimi was able to avoid any financial problems, other athletes might face issues in the future. The soccer community sent an outpour of support to the Morrocan national, showing their agreement with his decision. Hakimi will now be able to continue with his career without worry.
