As more people are getting fully vaccinated, regulations will ease up this summer in the Chicago area. While this summer won’t be a complete return to normalcy, it will definitely be a lot closer than last year.

Many of the area’s music festivals are looking to return. Lollapalooza is going to take place from July 29-August 1. Ravinia Festival announced its summer lineup with 64 performances between July 1 and September 26. A few key performances include Train, The Beach Boys, and Willie Nelson and Family.

Summer Smash, a summer music festival, is also looking to take place on August 20th-22nd. The headliners include A$AP Rocky, Lil Baby, and Lil Uzi Vert.

Navy Pier has opened up recently, after it was shut down since last fall. Visitors can dine outdoors at several restaurants, they can buy a ticket to ride the Centennial Wheel, or they can take a boat ride tour on the lake.

As Chicago will move into the Bridge Phase between Phase 4 and 5, it will likely reach Phase 5 of its reopening plan at the beginning of summer. This will allow for capacity levels at museums, zoos, and restaurants, to be higher. The Chicago Auto Show is also set to return this year as it will take place July 15-19 at the McCormick Place.

People living in the Chicago area will be able to enjoy some fun festivities this summer. They will be able to get out of the house for a change and soak up some summer sun.
