Quiroz wins top 3 at World karate competition
Niles North senior Sean Quiroz has recently won third place at an international WSKA competition in Portugal. He was in Portugal from September 15-29 and has just come back to the USA.
Even though Quiroz was focused on the competition, he still was very excited to be in Portugal for the first time.
“Portugal was amazing, besides the competition,” he said. I toured the castles, cities and ate a lot of the food.” Quiroz also liked meeting people from other countries at the competition.
With this great win, Quiroz had his own thoughts on it. “Could always do better,” he said. “But a great achievement.”
With this top 3, Quiroz is even closer to his goal of getting into the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
An athlete’s work is never done. In November, Quiroz will be competing in a local competition in Schaumburg. But, he will still have fun. Since he is now back, he plans on eating tacos and hanging out with his dogs.
Sean Quiroz just achieved something amazing and is looking forward to being back in America for awhile.
