The popular eBay online auction has certainly made an impression on Niles North’s Dance Marathon (DM) executive board. They have decided to present their twist on the website for the third consecutive year.
DM’s annual tBay will commence on Monday, April 16, outside the east cafe.
This year DM has amped up the variety of items and services to bid on. Some of the featured items include: Prom hairdo, Prom tickets and Limo, Autographed pro-Bowl cleats signed by Bears Matt Forte and Julius Peppers, Be Victor Viking for a Day, Weekend getaways to Wisconsin, Zingerman’s Deli goodie basket, Tickets to the Shedd Aquarium a ticket to Shakespeare Theater at navy Pier and Two parking passes to the Lincoln Park Zoo. Students can also bid on a Dougie lesson from Pankaj Sharma, or giving a pie in the face to Brad Greenspan — both rather enticing items. Niles North teachers and students have already donated more than 50 items to the cause. New items arrive daily. Just yesterday, artisan jewelry and a homemade blueberry pie were added to the mix.
Last year’s tBay raised more than $2,000 for the 2011 School Chest charity, Refugee One. This year DM hopes to exceed that amount on behalf of this year’s charity, Special Gifts Theater.
Make sure to stop by this year’s auction outside the east cafe to bid on some very valuable prizes. Bids continue through Friday after school at 3:45 p.m. May the bids be ever in your favor.
