No mask for Masquerade Day? Don’t worry! You can revel in the skill of your artistic peers tomorrow during lunch periods when National Art Honor Society (NAHS) face paints masquerade masks for $2.
“National Art Honor Society […] is a society that focuses on getting art out in the community,” Senior Sharmain Siddiqui says.
Since NAHS and Homecoming Committee both seek to involve our Niles North community, their collaboration effectively achieves NAHS’s mission while presenting face painting as a new, enriched component to the homecoming week experience.
Besides the benefit of beautiful face painting masterpieces and becoming enwrapped in homecoming spirit, the money raised will circulate to directly and indirectly aid Niles North functions and Dance Marathon’s charity of the year.
“The money collected […] will fund t-shirts for Empty Walls, the bi-annual silent art auction in March 2016,” NAHS sponsor Lori Real says. “Proceeds from the auction benefit DM. In 2014 National Art Honor Society donated $4000 to DM. We hope to surpass this amount this year!”
So, whether you want to show support for Niles North or simply want a neat mask to show off, let yourself get swept up in the homecoming spirit and face painting festivities!
