Seniors, with eight bitter sweet weeks left of high school, it’s time to reflect on the experiences, friendships and triumphs you’ve had here at Niles North. Four years ago we walked through the front doors ready for a new beginning, hoping that each step we took around this place would bring us closer to finding ourselves. Now that beginning is coming to an end, and whether we have found ourselves or not, the time we spent here was definitely worth while. Before we walk through a new set of doors, marking yet another new beginning, let’s stop time. Take a second to remember your moment, our moment, because there will never be another one like it.
Starting with the class of 2014, graduation will be a whole new experience. Taking away class rank has opened up endless possibilities for the senior class and its ability to showcase itself the right way. It’s not all about academics. It’s about student life, connections, culture, talents and thoughts.
We all have something to say, so in order to give every senior an equal opportunity at sharing their experiences, North Star will be holding senior moment and senior speech auditions on Friday, April 25th from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Senior Moment: Your Senior Moment could be showcased through a dance, poem, song, etc. This is your chance to showcase your creativity and express your senior moment in a way that’s personal to you. Auditions should be three minutes or less and will be held in room 1100 on April 25th.
Senior Speech: Senior Speech auditions will also be three minutes or less and will be held in room 1100 on April 25th. Senior speeches portray senior year in a way that will show both the audience and the student body what it was like to experience being part of the class of 2014.
Winners will present their pieces at graduation. Four runners up will be selected to be showcased through North Star News.
