This Tuesday, Feb. 4, Niles North will be hosting an activities and curriculum night for incoming freshmen. This event will take place from 6:30 p.m until 9:00 p.m. beginning in the Niles North auditorium.
“Activities night is an opportunity for incoming freshmen and their parents to come and learn about not only ways to get involved, but learn about the different classes we offer as well,” Caroline Benjamin, head of student activities, said. “Kids get a chance to talk to the sponsors and students representing the clubs and organizations to get a better feel on how to get involved.”
There will be informative booths and posters providing information about the different clubs and organizations at Niles North. Interested students will be able to write down their contact information to be notified of future events taking place within a given group.
The layout this year will be different than in past years. The student activities groups will be stationed in the main gym. The commons will host the fine arts extra and co-curricular activities. In the cafeteria will be the clubs and organizations that correspond with humanities, math, applied science and technology and foreign language. The parent groups, showing the different ways that parents can get involved in the school, will be set up outside the auditorium.
Don’t forget to check out the North Star booth!
