Because of the two snow days Niles North experienced on January 6 and 7, the school’s calendar has undergone some minor changes. Before the hazardous weather hit Chicago, first semester finals were scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, January 14-16 with a day off on Friday, January 17. To compensate for one of the two days lost, finals will now be pushed back a day to be on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, January 15-17. The second day lost will be accounted for on June 6, extending the school year by one day. While second semester finals were supposed to be June 3-5, they will now be June 4-6.
Since winter is not over yet, there is still a chance that further emergency days will have to be used. “Hopefully we will not have to use any additional days,” principal Ryan McTague said.
