Badminton soars to success

What is your Grade?

9th grade

Why did you decide to join badminton?

“At first I wanted to try out for volleyball but I missed the opportunity so then I decided to switch over to badminton and make it easier for myself. Little did I know it was harder than it looked. People like me underestimate sports like badminton but it takes as much effort as any other sport.”

What was your favorite memory from the season?

“Honestly, everyday games and practice were so much fun. I would sday the girls in badminton were super nice and supportive and we all trusted each other like sisters. But if I had to pick a favorite memory it would be finding out my team won conference.”

What was your season record?

“14 out of 15 games”

Because you won conference, what is the next step and how are y’all doing with that?

“Since we are freshmen, we don’t really compete in final competitions. We just got first in conference because we won the majority of games. I am hoping to celebrate our wins soon in a banquet we are having. I am planning to join badminton next year and come back strong on the JV team!”
