The basics
2800 x 680 pixels
* Open photoshop and hit “C” on your keyboard
* Put 2800 in the empty box on the left and 680 in the empty box on the right
* Adjust the positioning of the image as needed
Stellar quality
* Image should NOT be taken with phone unless you are doing a live coverage assignment
* Cameras can be checked out for 24 hour intervals at the IRC
* Make sure your picture is wide enough, as it will not be good quality if the picture is too small
Representative of your story
* A featured image should represent what your story is about in a single image
* Featured images that include people are often more relatable, however a picture of an object can also be a very poignant featured image as
well
A few more tips…
* Avoid using featured images that are extremely bright
* WordPress will sometimes crop featured images in unexpected ways, so make sure that all of your image represents your story
