With summer just over the horizon, all sorts of lineups are being released in anticipation of the hotter months to come. From Jun. 29 to Jul.10, excluding the fourth, Summerfest will pumping up Chicago’s neighboring city, Milwaukee, for fans of all types of music to lay witness to.
Headlines range from Selena Gomez, on the 29, to The Police’s Sting and Peter Gabriel on the closing night of the festival. In between are even more household names that this generation and older generation hold to heart. Country star Tim McGraw will perform to a selected audience, and even Def Leppard, joined by REO Speedwagon, will take center stage.
Perhaps the most anticipated act of the whole two week long party is The Beatles bassist and singer, Sir James Paul McCartney.
“As with the launch of every new Paul McCartney tour, One On One promises to unveil a dazzling re-designed set, dozens of classics from the most beloved catalogue in popular music, spanning Paul’s entire career–as a solo artist, member of Wings and of course as a Beatle—and no shortage of surprises,” says Sara Peronto, Summerfest media correspondent.
Tickets range in prices from a weekday pass for a mere $13, and the full 11-day pass for just under a hundred dollars. This definitely isn’t a steep price for a chance to see some of your favorite artist.
The only thing that worries attendees and musicians alike is how they are possibly going to top this year’s lineup next year for their 50th anniversary.
