As Kanye West releases a new version of his signature line, Yeezy’s, Adidas is slowly rising to the top of the athletic wear food chain. It’s been 2 years since Kanye and Nike broke up due to contract issues. The highly anticipated adidas Yeezy 350 Boost was the main focus last year as it is the most exclusive shoe ever to be sold by Adidas. Here’s the review for the Yeezy shoes.
Constructed with a Grey-melange knit through the one-piece upper that includes canvas detailing on the heel. It screams for a comfort that not many shoes provide.
The shoe itself features boost cushioning technology in the sole which many sneaker enthusiasts claim to be the best among all sneaker companies. It is also a first for Adidas, which up until the Yeezy, only used boost technology in their athletic running shoes. This boost cushioning is protected by a full rubber white outsole which hosts the only branding of the sneaker.
“Yeezys are one of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn, It’s exclusive which is nice because not many people can buy and wear a pair. The comfort level of these shoes are ahead of it’s time and will be the future of Adidas innovation. Definitely, one of my top ten shoes.” Nick Yim, senior at Niles North Highschool.
The upper is a full high quality suede boot silhouette with no actual tongue, in a color changing grey to tan shade. Having the Boost in hand, you can feel that Adidas did not lack on the materials necessary to make this one of a kind, using suede that could be found in most high quality designer sneakers. Rope laces are held in place by single eyelets running along where a tongue would be, finished off by the ever-present mid foot strap that is found on every sneaker are Kanye’s “Yeezy” name. The strap itself is an elastic material held down by Velcro.
Many will argue at a $350 price point, Adidas is beating people over the head and in their wallets. Ironically enough, the shoe is actually raising in prices upwards of $1200. Some will wonder why it cost so much, and the reason being is because of the limited quantities put out by Adidas coupled with the hype that stands behind Kanye West. His models previously done with Nike, The Air Yeezy 1 and Air Yeezy 2 are currently selling in the whopping $3,000-$5,000 range. Adidas has come out and said that there will be no more online releases at Adidas.com and there is also no word on whether or not the Yeezy Boost will be produced in more quantities.
So if you ever find yourself in need of some extra cash. Wait in line and grab a pair. These are the shoes of the year.
