Unless you’re social media deprived and have not recently skimmed through Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, you probably aren’t aware of the newest app taking teenagers by storm. It is called A Capella and it simply provides musicians and singers with an easy way to create amazing a capella videos and its aca-fabulous!
For those that are unaware of what acapella is, it is a musical style that is specifically for group or solo singing without instrumental accompaniment, or a piece intended to be performed in this way. Since singing groups like Pentatonix and the recent success of movies like Pitch Perfect, acapella has been more popular than ever before.
“I like that there is an app like a capella. I feel like singing has become very mainstream so it is nice that a capella is getting all this recent attention that it has gotten” Hadeel Faud, senior, said.
From the makers at PicPlayPost, this app is created with the purpose of amping up your performances by creating multi-part harmonies or the ability to jam with several instruments. There are three simple rules for creating your own video: 1. select a layout 2. record your videos 3. share. Through this app you can also customize your watermark, record up to nine frames, see video playback after the first video it is recorded, listen to your songs from your iTunes library, and share them to your favorite social media outlets like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc…
Although it was originally targeted towards singers and musicians, millions of people have recently started using this app. Posts of popular songs, raps, freestyles, and theme songs have been posted throughout various social media sites- proving to be a hit amongst the teenagers.
Regardless if someone has rhythm, a strong voice, or can hit high notes or not, this app is open to anyone and everyone.
“There is a lot of room for creativity in this app which is what I like. You don’t need to have the best voice, you just get to have a good time making them. It’s a lot of fun and it is very interactive” Merab Kalem, senior, said.
It is nice to know that there’s finally an app where the non singers of the world can show the singers their true talent.
You can download Acapella on your Andorid play store and Apple store for iPhone users.
