To start off the holiday shopping extravaganza, mobs of Black Friday shoppers gather in front of stores on Thanksgiving Thursday or early Friday morning, hoping to snag the best deal before anyone else. The question is, during this American tradition, would you rather spend money or make money?
Pros and cons of working on Black Friday:
There are many pros of being on the selling side of the Black Friday rage. As an employee working, if your hours are based on commission, you will have no trouble reaching your goal for the day, or even the week, in just one day. You will also not be pressured to spend money on impulsive purchases, and instead be making money.
If you’re into new technology, you can use the money you make for Cyber Monday, the online version of Black Friday for digital products that will take place Nov. 30.
Some cons of working on Black Friday are: customers cluttering the store, not having the ability to provide good customer service, and not being able to spend quality time with family.
Pros and cons of shopping on Black Friday:
The one thing that comes to mind when I hear Black Friday shopping is how horrible the parking situation is. People will get road rage for a parking spot or just run from their car and leave it on the street. Black Friday makes people go crazy because they have the chance to save money. As a shopper on Black Friday, stores being out of stock on your sizes, long waiting time for the bathroom, and not being able to afford discounted purchases make the experience disagreeable.
However, shopping on Black Friday isn’t completely horrible. Some of the pros of going shopping on Black Friday are treating your friends and family more than you usually would and being able to experience the excitement of this “holiday.”
However you may be participating in this year’s Black Friday, enjoy the holidays with your family and friends this Thanksgiving break.
