For the first time in Niles North history, the boys Varsity Football team advance into the quarter finals. In honor of their historic achievement, the boy’s football team will be having a send-off at 7:30 a.m. Friday, November 13 in the main gym.
The send-off will be in celebration of Niles North’s next game against Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School on Saturday, November 14 at 5 p.m.
Many spectators and football players were ecstatic over the past season’s achievements. Osagie Okaiye, senior, expresses his amazement over the team’s performance.
“It’s amazing because we were 2-3 in the beginning of the season, and now we’ve managed to win five out of six games of the playoffs. Now we’re making history as Niles North first quarter finalist football team,” Okaiye said.
“It was destined for us to advance in the playoffs. We came short in our conference games, but winning two playoff games is even greater. We achieved history, and more importantly, defined what it is to be a Niles North Viking,” senior Jeremy Shain said.
Come support our very own Boys Varsity football team Friday morning and wish them all the luck they can get for this weekend’s quarter finals game! The marching band, Victor Viking, and the purple pack will spread the energy during passing periods.
Don’t forget to fill out a permission slip if you want to attend the game this Saturday!
