Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7, the fine arts department is putting on Hairspray: The Musical in the auditorium. On Friday, the showing is at 7 p.m., while Saturday has two shows 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. The Friday and Saturday night showings are sold out, but you can still buy tickets for $10 for the Saturday afternoon show.
Yesterday was the community performance and some of the English classes went to go see it. They all had positive things to say about it.
Auditions for the show were back in December and the cast, crew, and orchestra have been working hard to put this play together for the past few months.
The past two weeks, the crew has been at school until very late to ensure that the set will be done perfectly for the show. All the cast has been memorizing lines and dances and songs for us to enjoy.
Although the musical version of Hairspray does have a few more songs than the movie version, it still conveys the same message. The fine arts department always does a great job with their spring musicals and they didn’t disappoint.
Buy your tickets before they’re all gone!
