This is not a car with a giant built in Tesla that shoots sparks. It’s just a car made by Tesla. Tesla motors. That doesn’t mean it’s just an ordinary car. This is an electric car.
Electric cars where thought out long ago. Starting from sci-fi and entering our everyday realities, these are cars that run on electricity. They don’t need a gasoline engine to run, which means that there is almost no pollution and instead of pumping gas into it, you get to charge it like your iPod.
The Tesla car that I’m talking about right now is the 2015 Tesla Model X. It is an SUV and besides running on electricity, it can seat seven adults plus luggage and has falcon-wing doors, which are the kind of doors that go up.
Tesla is “working with Panasonic with new cell electrochemistry to make affordable 200+ mile ranges happen”.
The “cell electrochemistry” part means that there will be a huge lithium-ion battery under the seats; but don’t worry, it’s not the same as sitting on uranium. The good thing about having something heavy at the bottom of a car is that it adds stability.
Good quality gasoline engines can run 500 miles on one tank. The battery that Tesla is using can only power its motor for half that amount, but that’s still double the 125 miles old electric cars could go.
19.4 pounds of CO2 are produced by every spent gallon of gas. A gallon of gas only weighs about 6 pounds. Gasoline is also going to be used up in the next half-century. Electricity is a domestic resource and there are many ways to make it. There’s also no need for combustion, which makes it a smooth and quiet ride. Also, replacing a gasoline engine with an electric motor saves up so much space that there is a front-trunk, or as some people call it, a “frunk”.
Tesla’s dual motor all-wheel drive not only lets it drive in any kind of weather and on any kind of terrain, but it’s able to increase its speed very quickly as well. Model X performance accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than five seconds, outperforming the fastest SUVs and many sports cars.
Tesla hasn’t announced a price for this vehicle yet. Financial corporation Morgan Stanley expects the Model X starting price to be 5%-10% higher than that of the Model S. However, others say that Tesla is trying to lower the price from Model S’s $70,000 down to $35,000.
In my opinion, if humans have a future, it’s in electronic vehicles. What do you think?
