Summer this year was definitely not a bummer for our students. Traveling, exploring, and even sailing were just one of the various things Niles North students did this summer.
Senior Adam Rubinberg went on a 150 mile three day bike ride. Even though this looks exhausting, Rubinberg says it was the most enjoyable thing he did this summer.
Our royal highness of North Star, senior Hannah Bader traveled and explored Spain. She visited the Royal Palace and ate from many resturuants. Her favorite memory was walking around the city at night. “It was life changing,” Bader said.
Watch out Skokie, the monkey from Aladdin, junior Abu-Bakr Malik got his permit. “It was hectic learning all the material, but at the end of the day it all pays off.” Malik says he was not scared at all driving and says it was piece of cake. If you see him on the road be sure to say hi.
There comes a time when people change, whether it’s good or bad, but changing your hair color is just out of this world. Junior Trize Stephen-Pons dyed her hair scarlet. She says it was just what she needed for summer. If you see red floating around, it’s not a strawberry – it’s her.
With no internet at all, English teacher Jason Mormolstein went on a hike in the Smoky Mountains. He also went zip-lining with his family. So what did he get from no internet and phone use? He has to say it was great spending time with his family.
Summer is all about having fun and enjoying life before school starts, but some choose to work. Senior Kris Estacion worked at the famous Panda Express and says it was great experience.
All aboard senior Lachlan Chen’s sailing boat. He traveled to Canada on a sailboat! It was a heck of a ride but it was the most fun thing he has ever done.
