Nothing says “it’s war” better than head-to-toe camouflage and war paint, which is what the Varsity Cheerleaders wore Friday in preparation for Sectionals over the weekend. The team certainly brought everything they had to the fight, leaving not only with a second place trophy but a spot in the State Championships among the most elite cheer squads in Illinois.
“There’s no better feeling than knowing all your hard work payed off,” senior Jasmine DeGuzman said.
The Illinois High School Association will host the ninth annual State competition for Competitive Cheerleading on Feb. 7-8, 2014 at the U.S Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, IL. Tickets can be purchased for ten dollars.
“This season isn’t over yet! The war has just begun.” senior Sabrina Roti said.
If you’re interested in watching the vikings perform next weekend but can’t make it to Bloomington, the team will be broadcast live at nfhsnetwork.com through IHSA.
Congratulations Varsity Cheerleaders, and go Vikings!
