The girls Basketball team played a tough game on Friday and unfortunately ended the loser. The final score was 52-31. Highland park outplayed the North squad for four quarters. According to Players on the North team, several factors led to their loss. “It was probably one of the worst games we had played.” says senior Kienya Jones. Jones wasn’t able to play at the game which also contributed to the teams defeat. “My teammates didn’t know how to respond with me not being there which sucks but we will work on it”
However, Kienya’s absence wasn’t the only contributing factor. Senior forward Stephanie Warda attributes the loss to a variety of factors. “Our rebounding was hurting us. Our Defense was descent but we just didn’t have enough points on the board..we could have beaten them, but we didn’t play as hard as we could,” said Warda. The team is looking to recoup from their loss at Friday’s home game against Maine West. Come Cheer on the Vikings at 7:30 in the main gym!
