Students are encouraged to support our North Basketball teams at this Saturday’s Boys and Girls Basketball Jamboree at Niles West. The games will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Freshman boys and Sophomore girls, followed by Freshmen girls and Sophomore boys at 3:30 p.m., and to wrap it all up, Varsity girls and boys will play at 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m..
To raise breast cancer awareness, girls will be wearing pink uniforms and boys will be wearing pink in their warm up shirts.
“Our players are always very excited to play against West. It will be a great environment Saturday night against a very talented opponent”, Varsity coach John Clancy said.
Athletes that are expected to shine that night are JJ Myles, Danilo Ranger, Peter Tate, and Crishawn Cook. They will be facing defendants Ahmad Gibson, Romeo Magloire, Evan Hines, and Jo Jo Garcia of Niles West.
“I expect to win. I know there’s some adversity we’re facing as a team, but that’s nothing some of us returning players have been through before. We’ve been practicing hard all week just as we would for any team, and we aren’t going to change a thing. We’re going to go out and play the North Basketball that’s gotten us 4 regionals over the last 4 years.” Varsity player junior Danilo Ranger said.
Good luck to all the teams, and make sure you come out and show your support support.
Go Vikings!
