What is your name and grade? Sarah Novak and I am a sophomore.

What are your hobbies and interests? I play softball. I play on a travel team. Also, not a lot of people know this about me but I love reading. My bookshelf is so packed with books.

What is your dream job? I know I want to work in the medical field because I really want to help people. That is something that has always been important to me. I want to find a job where I can be happy but help as many people as possible too.

If you could go anywhere in the world where would it be and why? I think I would want to go to Europe. Going to multiple different countries in Europe is something I have never done but the number of gorgeous places i could see is beautiful. And the ocean. If I could go to the ocean that would be the dream. I have never been to the ocean before.

What sparked your love for softball? My mom played softball in high school for Niles North and my dad always played baseball so when I was way younger, around three or four, I played tee ball. I took a break from it for a while and then I joined my first team around seven. I did karate too at the time but I didn’t want to do it anymore. The more I got involved with softball the more I wanted to do it. At this point in my life, I have played softball for 10 years.

How would your friends describe you as a person? I feel like I can be a shy and reserved person to other people but my friends know how big of a personality I have. Not to brag, but I’m a really nice person, I always have been. I think there is more to me than being a nice person I am also funny, outgoing, and I have a lot of energy.

What do most people not know about you? I have bad anxiety but it is something that I have had forever and it really comes up with school and softball. It has been really hard to manage as life has changed, my anxiety has changed along with it. It is really hard that there is no off button. For example, when I’m up to bat at a game I can’t tell my anxiety to shut off and focus to hit the ball. I think I do a good job at controlling it so I don’t have panic attacks at school.

If you were a celebrity what would you be famous for? I feel like I would want to be a celebrity that’s a philanthropist. I would want to help people who have less than me. I think of someone like Princess Diana, and the amount of help she gave to kids. If I was a celebrity that is something I would care to do.

What was your first job? Being a camp counselor. Besides babysitting but I don’t really think that counts.

What’s on top of your bucket list? I wanna go skydiving. I’m scared to do it and I have anxiety about that but I don’t want to let that stop me. It’s so thrilling and exciting and I just really want to do it.

What’s your favorite memory? I have a memory of when the five of us (my family) went to the movies and saw “Inside Out.” “Inside Out” is also my favorite movie but I remember sitting next to my dad and when Bing Bong died my dad bawled his eyes out. That is something I cherish and I always want to remember that memory.

Is there anything else people should know about you? I think I’m a person who believes in not judging a book by its cover, it really resonates with me. There is a lot more to a person than what appears on the outside. There is more to your cover and more to what people think about you. What I am trying to say is find friends and people who know what is more to you than the outside.
