What is your name and grade level? My name is Ariana Ardeleanu and I am a senior at Niles North High School.
What do you think is the most important characteristic that someone should have?I think the most important characteristic someone should have is loyalty and honesty. That’s because it is very important to me that I have people in my life that I can trust and know that they are always telling the truth.
Who is your hero? My hero is my grandma because she always supports me in everything that I do. She always makes me food and pushes me to do my best. She is a very strong woman because she made a life for herself here and doesn’t even speak any English.
What are two things that mean the most to you? My friends and family are the most important because they are always there for me and I know they can always make me feel better if I am sad. They know how to make me laugh and smile.
What sports do you play? I have played volleyball since freshman year. I love it because I met a lot of my best friends playing volleyball. And last year, I started playing badminton for Niles Noeth for the first time and I really enjoyed it.
What are your hobbies? I really like to cook, especially with my grandma. Our favorite thing to make together is pasta. I also love to listen to music, especially when I’m cooking. I enjoy making my own recipes and after I’m finished, I love to eat the food I made.
What are the little things that you see in a person that really stand out to you? When someone knows how to make me laugh, it really stands out to me. It is really important for me to have laughter in my life, especially since we get so much homework and school can be really stressful. It’s great to have somebody you can laugh with
Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now? In five years from now, I see myself in dental school at UIC because I am going to be a dentist.
Who knows you best? I think my friends know me best because I tell them everything about myself.
What is one thing you really want to experience in your life? I really want to experience zip lining because it seems so much fun. I’ve seen many videos of it. One time I was about to go ziplining, but then it started raining so I couldn’t go anymore. So, I really want to experience it one day because it looks so much fun.
What’s your go-to midnight snack? My go-to midnight snack is cereal. Especially if I’m up late studying, I always make myself a bowl of cereal. It helps me think and it’s one of my favorite snacks.
What is your favorite childhood memory? My favorite childhood memory is when I was little, my grandma used to take me to the park every day and we would always play on the swings and I would go down the slides. When we went home, she would always make me food to eat and we would watch Snow White in Romanian on the TV.
What is your favorite fast food restaurant? My favorite fast food place is Potbelly because I love sandwiches. My order from there is an Italian sandwich with lettuce, mayo, tomatoes, hot peppers, Italian seasoning and other toppings on it. I sometimes get a broccoli cheddar soup with it because I also love soup.
If money was no object, what would you do all day? If money was no object, I would try different food places and get their most expensive foods. Or, I would go to a different country and get a lot of food from there to try.
