Manchester City advance to Champions League final after beating Real Madrid in the semi-final

On May 16, Real Madrid vs. Manchester City ended in a draw with Real Madrid Left Winger Vinicious Junior and Manchester Midfielder Kevin De Bruyne on the score sheet.

Real Madrid Midfielder Eduard Camavinga had an incredible game at Left Back, which isn’t his natural position, and Vinicious Jr. took the ball forward numerous times creating multiple chances as he scored the first and only goal for Madrid off a counterattack. Madrid’s center-back, Antonio Rudiger, closely marked City’s danger man, Erling Haaland, as the City Center Midfielder Kevin De Bruyne threaded multiple passes up the field.

The top three competitors for man of the match were Camavinga, Vinicious Junior and De Bruyne. Ex-Arsenal player, Thierry Henry, said on CBS Sports, “Vinicious Junior played in his position and we all know what he can do and he did it. Camavinga has never played left-back in his life and he been doing it for 2 months already. He’s coming in midfield, one-two, defending, he looks strong. Vinicious Junior grabbed the headline and I think he played better so I will give Man of the Match to Vinicious Jr. but Camavinga had an outstanding game.”

Thierry Henry, Ex Arsenal player, also said, according to CBS Sports,Well, obviously this is why there is a difference between ex-players and I don’t know who voted. It is true. It’s a different game. I love Kevin. Amazing goal.”

The second leg of the matches ended 3-0 with Manchester City winning and an aggregate score of 4-1. Madrid lost due to defensive errors while City dominated the game with an overall 61% possession, 14 attacking chances and more passes completed. The second leg was very one-sided, and City scored two goals within the first 45 minutes. Bernardo Silva scores a solo goal and a header inside the box. The third goal was an own goal by Eder Militao off a set piece for City. Madrid is knocked out while Manchester city moves on to the Champions League final against Inter.
