What is your name and grade? My name is Erika Wideman and im a senior.

How long have you been in the club? This is my second year in DECA.

What is the best memory you have from this year so far? My favorite memory this year so far was when my group placed top three at state.

What is your favorite part of playing/being in the club? My favorite part of this club is definitely the connections i’ve made with other people.

How do you overcome the nerves when you’re about to compete? There isn’t an exact way I overcome my fears I just let that push me further.

What do you do before competing to prepare yourself? For my roleplay, I would review terms about my event. For my project my group mates would go over our script multiple times.

Would you recommend anyone to try and if so why? I would definitely recommend joining DECA. I personally it has helped me get out of my comfort zone.

What’s been your biggest accomplishment? My biggest accomplishment relating to DECA would be placing top three in the event my group and I competed at during state.

What’s your favorite activity outside of school? In my free time, I love to play the ukulele and have played for almost two years.

What is your favorite TV show? I currently don’t have a favorite TV show.
